Commercial Lines Underwriter

Ascinsure Specialty Risk – Pittsburgh, Pa.

Ascinsure Specialty Risk has an opening for an All-Lines Commercial Underwriter for our Crane, Scaffolding & Rental Equipment Dealers programs in our Pittsburgh, Pa. office. Our team is growing and looking for someone who is a quick learner and works well with underwriting deadlines.

Ascinsure Specialty Risk has the pen for a 3 All-Lines programs with “A” rated companies. We are a “Niche” player and considered the best in class within these niches. We utilize an AMS 360 management system and various carrier systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the Submission process for all incoming new / renewal pieces of business.
• Underwrite all lines of commercial business.
• Underwrite in accordance to our underwriting guidelines.
• Organize and prepare referrals when necessary.
• Investigate, analyze, interpret and process information and facts relevant to the potential risks while maintaining
• Objectivity and underwriting profitably.
• Process information quickly and accurately in order to make appropriate decisions and recommendations in a responsive and timely manner.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• 5 + years’ experience as a commercial Underwriter.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to support multiple individuals.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel
• Ability to prioritize and demonstrate great time management skills

Commercial Lines Underwriter Assistant

Ascinsure Specialty Risk – Pittsburgh, Pa.

Ascinsure Specialty Risk has an opening for an All-Lines Commercial Underwriter for our Crane, Scaffolding & Rental Equipment Dealers programs in our Pittsburgh, Pa. office. Our team is growing and looking for someone who is a quick learner and works well with underwriting deadlines.

Ascinsure Specialty Risk has the pen for a 3 All-Lines programs with “A” rated companies. We are a “Niche” player and considered the best in class within these niches. We utilize an AMS 360 management system and various carrier systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage the Submittal process for all incoming new / renewal pieces of business.
• Manage loss run requests from external brokers and for internal renewal accounts.
• Communicate with brokers regarding invoices, policies & endorsements.
• Order Loss Control site inspection reports.
• Process reinstatements and cancellation notices.
• File and task necessary items.
• Support Underwriters with various projects as needed.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of general insurance office practice and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to support multiple individuals.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prioritize and demonstrate great time management skills.
• Detailed oriented.
• Team player.
